Berry Hall was earlier known as Bury Hall.
The following extract from John Yaxley’s A Jam Round Barton Turf is part of his description of Berry Hall Farm.
The mellowed rambling farm house nearby, still occupied by the farmer and his wife, was connected to the Great Norwich Hospital and Barton Bury is referred to in their accounts of peat digging 1150. It has connections with St Benet’s Abbey and is said to be haunted.
